WHAT IS HARMFUL BLUE LIGHT?
It’s part of the visible light spectrum, which comes from both the sun and artificial light sources like digital screens and fluorescent lights. This type of light gets absorbed deep in the eye, making it potentially impacting to long-term vision. Overexposure to blue-violet light or Harmful Blue Light, especially outside in the sun and through constant use of electronic devices and screens, is why protecting your vision has never been more important.
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR EYES FROM HARMFUL BLUE LIGHT
There are lenses that help reduce exposure to Harmful Blue Light including the Transitions® adaptive lenses which selectively filter Harmful Blue Light and provide at least 20% protection indoors and over 85% protection outdoors.

Who caught the Oscars last night? From the red carpet to the after party we've rounded up a few of the spectacular fashion eyewear photos. Spike Lee and Elton John caught our eyes in particular... it might be the purple though! We're pretty fond of the lavender hues here at Inisght Eyeworks!
The 2019 Special Olympics Ontario Invitational Youth Games will play host to over 2,500 athletes and coaches from around the world. We are very happy to support the games through the Healthy Athletes (HA) initiative. Healthy Athletes is a health screening and education program designed for people with Intellectual Disabilities. HA Screenings are offered in seven disciplines and are administered by volunteer health care providers.
Annually, the staff and I volunteer our services to perform vision screening and supply the necessary vision aids and glasses to the athletes who are competing. This is part of the Opening Eyes program that offers free prescription eyewear, sunglasses, and sports goggles to the participants. Click here for more information on the Opening Eyes discipline of Healthy Athletes.
